It is with great honor that I present to you my Broker/Manager and Owner of Century 21 Masters, Mr. Neil Schwartz, who will be speaking to my clients (you!) about a very important topic as we kick off the year and the decade, our own Roaring 20s…… How to Get Rich in Real Estate!
Yes, you read that right – and you always knew – that the road to building and keeping true enduring wealth is via Real Estate. That the truly wealthy, not just in the United States but definitely in the United States, but all over the world, that it is those who have ownership in land and the improvements on that land, that can pass that land on to the next generation and the next generation after that, and they to the next generation in perpetuity – they, the landowners, are those with true, enduring, intergenerational wealth.
And that starts with investing, truly investing, in a little thing we call Real Estate.
I don’t think we really realize what we are saying when we say real estate – because the term is tossed around so frequently, that it has lost the impact that words have – and in order to understand the true value of what we are talking about when we say Real Estate….. we need to break down this term to its 2 components – Real and Estate – the Estate part already alludes to the fact that this is one of those things that is not just a house you live in, but that it is part of your Estate that you can leave to your heirs. That is, if you own it. If you rent it, your landlord gets to leave it to his or her heirs. (And I’m not even going to get into what a privilege we have living in a place and time when we get to own real estate and have access to the institutional financing to make the average Joe and Jane like ourselves be able to do it, and even by the coast…. in a beautiful place such as California…. don’t get me started!)
And the Real part – that refers to any property that cannot be moved. Property that can be moved, such as furniture or jewelry or artwork is referred to as Personal Property. Real Property is property such as land and what sits on it that cannot be moved. It has a physical address, a terroir for you wine people that know that each individual piece of this earth is uniquely unique.
But I digress.
