Long Beach has a lot of great things: first and foremost – a fantastic beach that is huge and long (as the name promises, it delivers); tons of waterfront; marinas filled with boats of all sizes; terrific little streets and neighborhoods; interesting architecture including mid-century modern, Craftsman, Spanish revival, Cliff May Rancho and much more; eclectic restaurants and stores that are independently owned as opposed to large corporate chains; an airport that is modern, charming, convenient, and efficient, and I heard, soon to be flying to Hawaii (as if anyone needed to do that if you already have Long Beach…)…. but one thing that Long Beach does not have a lot of is this: New Construction.
Oh how I often wish that Long Beach had more new construction – new houses with big open floor plans, big master suites, big walk-in closets, giant garages….. alas, we are in Los Angeles county and not in Orange County where there are more wide open spaces to develop in large swaths.
